Tech Tools for EAL Learners: becoming self-regulated learners
I would love to hear your thoughts on the possibility of ePortflios for our group of learners. There are powerful tools available that allow students to create and publish content while interacting, collaborating and sharing information with others.
Great article, Rita. I think it could be an invaluable tool especially for our students. Data and knowledge curation and organizational skills are often lacking even in the higher levels. Online portfolios could be that missing piece.
After reading about research on ePortfolios conducted in Europe, the United States and Canada, and upon closer examination of the results of various studies and pilot projects, it is evident that ePortfolios are more educational, easier to update and more meaningful to the learner on an ongoing basis.
I hope to embrace this teaching and learning tool when it becomes available.
